Applications
3-Aminopyridine is an important pyridine heterocyclic intermediate with amino group at the 3-position of pyridine ring, possessing high activity for diazotization, condensation, substitution and coupling reactions. It is widely used in organic synthesis for constructing pyridine-derived fused heterocyclic compounds and fine chemical molecular skeletons. In pharmaceutical industry, it is a core raw material for synthesizing neurological drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs, antibacterial agents, cardiovascular medicines and enzyme inhibitor intermediates, widely used in new drug design and process scale-up production.
In agrochemical field, it is applied to manufacture high-efficiency fungicides, herbicides and insecticide intermediates with excellent biological activity. It also serves as key raw material for dye intermediates, organic additives, chemical analytical reagents and laboratory synthetic methodology research, as well as customized production of high-purity heterocyclic fine chemicals.
Safety Information
This compound is irritating and slightly toxic to human body, causing obvious stimulation to skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Direct skin contact may lead to redness, burning sensation and allergic dermatitis; long-term repeated exposure easily causes skin sensitization. Eye contact will result in severe stinging, conjunctival congestion and tearing, requiring immediate and thorough flushing with plenty of running water. Inhalation of dust or vapor irritates nasal and bronchial mucosa, inducing throat discomfort, cough and chest tightness, especially harmful to people with respiratory sensitivity. Accidental ingestion may cause nausea, abdominal pain and other gastrointestinal discomfort, and excessive intake may lead to physical discomfort.
It is harmful to aquatic organisms and must not be discharged directly into water bodies, sewage and soil. During handling, operate in a well-ventilated fume hood, wear nitrile protective gloves, chemical safety goggles and dust-proof mask. Keep away from high temperature, open flame, strong oxidants and strong acids. Store hermetically away from light to prevent oxidation discoloration. Waste residues and empty packaging shall be disposed strictly in accordance with hazardous chemical waste regulations to avoid environmental pollution and potential health risks.
