Applications
This product is an important functional salicylic acid derivative, containing phenolic hydroxyl, methoxy and carboxyl groups on the benzene ring, with high reactivity for esterification, amidation, condensation, cyclization and substitution reactions. It is widely used in organic synthesis as a key molecular building block for constructing multi-substituted aromatic compounds and fused heterocyclic skeletons, and commonly applied in various classic organic reaction designs and process optimization.
In pharmaceutical industry, it is a critical intermediate for synthesizing anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antioxidant, antibacterial and cardiovascular drugs, also used in the development of enzyme inhibitors and cosmetic skin-care active raw materials. In agrochemical field, it serves as raw material for high-efficiency fungicides, herbicides and plant growth regulator intermediates. Additionally, it is extensively used in fine chemical synthesis, dye and perfume intermediates, organic optoelectronic materials, as well as laboratory synthetic methodology research and custom high-purity fine chemical production.
Safety Information
This compound is irritating to skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Direct skin contact may cause redness, itching and mild inflammatory reaction; long-term repeated exposure may induce skin sensitization and allergic dermatitis. Dust or particles entering the eyes will cause severe stinging, conjunctival congestion and tearing, requiring immediate and thorough rinsing with plenty of running clean water. Inhalation of dust will irritate nasal and throat mucosa, causing throat dryness, cough and respiratory discomfort, especially uncomfortable for people with respiratory allergies. Accidental ingestion may trigger mild gastrointestinal irritation symptoms such as nausea, stomachache and abdominal distension.
It has certain harmful effect on aquatic organisms and is prohibited from direct discharge into water bodies, sewage and soil. During handling, operate in a well-ventilated fume hood, wear nitrile protective gloves, chemical safety goggles and dust mask. Keep away from high temperature, open flame and strong oxidants. Store sealed, dry and protected from light. Waste residues and empty packaging shall be disposed in accordance with hazardous chemical waste regulations to prevent environmental pollution and potential health risks.
