Applications
2-Amino-4-chloropyridine is a core halogenated pyridine heterocyclic intermediate, bearing amino and chloro groups on the pyridine ring. It easily undergoes diazotization, substitution, condensation and Suzuki cross-coupling reactions, widely used to construct multi-substituted pyridine derivatives and fused heterocyclic skeletons in organic synthesis.
In pharmaceutical industry, it is an important building block for antitumor, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and central nervous system drug intermediates, also used in kinase inhibitors and small molecule targeted drug synthesis. In agrochemicals, it is applied to synthesize high-efficiency fungicides, herbicides and insecticide intermediates. Also widely used in organic optoelectronic materials, liquid crystal intermediates, dye raw materials and laboratory custom fine chemical synthesis.
Safety Information
Irritating to skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Direct skin contact may cause redness, itching and mild inflammation; long-term exposure may induce skin sensitization. Eye contact causes stinging, congestion and tearing, rinse immediately with plenty of running water. Inhalation of dust irritates throat and bronchial mucosa, causing dry cough and respiratory discomfort. Accidental ingestion may lead to mild nausea and gastrointestinal upset.
Harmful to aquatic organisms, prohibited from direct discharge into water and soil. Operate in fume hood, wear nitrile gloves, chemical goggles and dust mask. Keep away from high temperature, open flame and strong oxidants. Store sealed, dry and away from light. Waste and packaging shall be disposed per hazardous chemical waste regulations.
