Applications
5-Bromo-2-chloropyridine is a dihalogenated pyridine key intermediate, with bromine and chlorine substituted on pyridine ring. It has high reaction activity, easily participates in nucleophilic substitution, Suzuki coupling, Buchwald reaction and cyclization reactions, widely used to synthesize multi-substituted pyridine derivatives and fused heterocyclic skeletons in organic synthesis.
In pharmaceutical industry, it is an important building block for antitumor, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and neurological drug intermediates, also used in kinase inhibitors and small molecule targeted drug research and production. In agrochemical field, it is the core intermediate for high-efficiency fungicides, herbicides and insecticides. It is also commonly applied in organic optoelectronic materials, liquid crystal intermediates and laboratory customized fine chemical synthesis.
Safety Information
Irritating to skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Direct skin contact may cause redness, itching and mild inflammatory reaction; long-term exposure may induce skin sensitization. Dust entering eyes causes stinging, conjunctival congestion and tearing, need immediate rinsing with plenty of running water. Inhalation of dust irritates nasal and bronchial mucosa, causing throat dryness and cough. Accidental ingestion may trigger mild gastrointestinal nausea and abdominal discomfort.
Harmful to aquatic organisms, strictly prohibited from direct discharge into water and soil. Operate in ventilated fume hood, wear nitrile gloves, chemical goggles and dust mask. Keep away from high temperature, open flame and strong oxidants. Store sealed, dry and away from light. Waste and packaging shall be disposed in accordance with hazardous chemical waste regulations.
