Applications
5-Bromo-2-methoxypyridine is an important substituted pyridine heterocyclic intermediate. It readily participates in nucleophilic substitution, Suzuki coupling, Buchwald amination and condensation reactions, widely used for constructing multi-substituted pyridine and fused heterocyclic skeletons in organic synthesis.
It is extensively applied in pharmaceutical intermediates for anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and central nervous system drugs, as well as kinase inhibitor and small molecule targeted drug building blocks. Also used as key intermediate for agrochemical fungicides, herbicides, organic optoelectronic materials and custom fine chemical synthesis.
Safety Information
Irritating to skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Skin contact may cause redness and itching; dust into eyes causes stinging and congestion, rinse immediately with plenty of running water. Inhalation of dust may trigger throat discomfort and cough. Accidental ingestion may cause mild gastrointestinal upset.
Harmful to aquatic organisms; do not discharge directly into water and soil. Operate in fume hood, wear nitrile gloves, safety goggles and dust mask. Keep away from high temperature, open flame and strong oxidants. Store sealed, dry and away from light. Dispose of waste per hazardous chemical regulations.
