Applications
2-Bromo-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine is a critical fluorinated bromopyridine heterocyclic intermediate. It readily undergoes nucleophilic substitution, Suzuki coupling, Buchwald amination and cyclization reactions, widely used to construct fluorine-containing multi-substituted pyridine and fused heterocyclic molecular skeletons.
It is widely used as building block for anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and central nervous system drug intermediates, kinase inhibitors and small-molecule targeted drugs. Also applied in high-efficiency agrochemical fungicides, herbicides, organic optoelectronic materials and custom fine chemical synthesis.
Safety Information
Irritating to skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Skin contact may cause redness and itching; dust entering eyes causes stinging and conjunctival congestion, rinse immediately with plenty of running water. Inhalation of dust may cause throat dryness and cough. Accidental ingestion may lead to mild gastrointestinal discomfort.
Harmful to aquatic organisms; prohibited from direct discharge into water and soil. Operate in ventilated fume hood, wear nitrile gloves, safety goggles and dust mask. Keep away from high temperature, open flame and strong oxidants. Store sealed, dry and away from light. Dispose of waste per hazardous chemical waste regulations.
