Applications
2-Amino-5-bromo-4-methylpyridine is a multi-substituted pyridine heterocyclic intermediate bearing amino, bromo and methyl functional groups. It has high chemical reactivity and can be used for diazotization, nucleophilic substitution, Suzuki coupling and Buchwald amination reactions. It serves as a critical building block for the synthesis of antitumor, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and central nervous system pharmaceutical intermediates, kinase inhibitor fragments and targeted small molecule drugs. It is also widely applied in custom fine chemical synthesis, medicinal chemistry structure-activity relationship study and development of new agrochemical fungicides and herbicides.
Safety Information
Irritating to skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Inhalation of dust may cause throat discomfort, dry cough and respiratory mucosal irritation; direct eye contact will cause stinging, redness and conjunctival congestion. Avoid dust inhalation, prolonged skin contact and eye exposure. All operations should be performed in a fume hood equipped with nitrile gloves, safety goggles and dust mask. Keep away from high temperature, open flame and strong oxidants. Store sealed under dry and dark conditions. Waste residues and packaging materials shall be disposed strictly in accordance with hazardous chemical regulations to prevent water and soil pollution.
