Applications
4-Chloro-2-methylpyrimidine is an important disubstituted pyrimidine heterocyclic intermediate. The chlorine atom at the 4-position has high reactivity and is easy to undergo nucleophilic substitution, amination, coupling and condensation reactions. It is widely used as a core building block for the synthesis of antitumor, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and cardiovascular pharmaceutical intermediates, kinase inhibitors and targeted small molecule drugs. It is also commonly used in medicinal chemistry structure-activity relationship screening, custom fine chemical synthesis, as well as the research and development of new pesticide fungicides and herbicide intermediates.
Safety Information
Irritating to skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Inhalation of dust may cause throat discomfort, dry cough and respiratory mucosal irritation; direct eye contact will cause obvious stinging, redness and conjunctival congestion. Prolonged skin contact may lead to dryness and allergic inflammation. Avoid dust inhalation, skin adhesion and eye exposure. All operations must be carried out in a fume hood with nitrile gloves, safety goggles and dust mask. Keep away from high temperature, open flame and strong oxidants. Store sealed in dry, dark and ventilated environment. Waste residues and packaging materials shall be disposed strictly in accordance with hazardous chemical regulations to prevent water and soil pollution.
