n-Dodecane is a straight-chain saturated alkane with excellent chemical stability and low volatility. It is widely used as organic solvent, hydrocarbon diluent and reaction medium in fine chemical industry. It serves as raw material for the production of lubricant additives, metal processing oil, rust inhibitors and biodegradable surfactant intermediates. It is also commonly used as standard reagent for chromatographic analysis, fuel marker, laboratory high-boiling point solvent, and applied in cosmetics, daily chemical blending and biodiesel research fields.

Flammable liquid, slightly irritating to skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Vapor may form explosive mixture with air; inhalation of high-concentration vapor may cause dizziness, drowsiness and respiratory discomfort. Long-term skin contact may cause degreasing, dryness and mild irritation. Avoid inhalation of vapor and prolonged skin contact. Operate in well-ventilated area with chemical gloves and safety goggles. Keep away from fire, static electricity and strong oxidants. Store sealed in cool and ventilated warehouse, separate from oxidants. Waste liquid shall be recycled or disposed by professional treatment, not discharged arbitrarily to prevent environmental pollution.
