Applications
Diethylene glycol monomethyl ether is a high-boiling glycol ether solvent with excellent coupling solubility, low volatility and stable chemical properties. It has both polar and non-polar solubility, making it compatible with both hydrophilic and hydrophobic systems, and is a highly versatile multi-functional solvent in the industrial field. It is widely used as a solvent for coatings, inks, resins and dyes, and also serves as an intermediate in chemical synthesis. In addition, it is used as an electronic grade solvent, textile dyeing auxiliary and raw material for brake fluid formulation. It can be used as a homogeneous reaction medium in organic synthesis reactions such as condensation, etherification and hydrogenation, which can effectively improve the reaction conversion rate and product purity. It is also widely applied in the formulation of daily chemical products such as cleaning agents and leather care products, with good solubility and compatibility.
Safety Information
It is irritating to the skin, eyes and respiratory tract, and has reproductive toxicity. Avoid inhalation of its vapor and long-term skin contact. When operating, wear appropriate protective equipment such as chemical-resistant gloves and safety goggles, and operate in a well-ventilated environment. It is not flammable under normal conditions, but its vapor can form a flammable mixture with air when heated, so it should be kept away from open flames, high temperatures and strong oxidants. During storage, it should be sealed to prevent moisture absorption and contamination. Waste liquid should not be directly discharged into water or soil; it should be treated by professional hazardous waste disposal institutions to avoid environmental pollution. When in contact with the skin or eyes accidentally, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical advice if necessary.
