Applications
Polyacrylamide is a high-molecular water-soluble polymer widely used in wastewater treatment, papermaking industry, mineral processing, oilfield chemical and construction industries. It has excellent flocculation, thickening, adhesion and dispersion performance. In water treatment, it is used as flocculant and settling agent for industrial sewage and municipal wastewater purification, effectively removing suspended solids and organic impurities. In oilfield industry, it is applied for polymer flooding to enhance oil recovery and reduce water content. It also serves as retention aid and filter aid in papermaking, as well as settling agent and depressant in mineral separation. In addition, it can be used as thickener, soil conditioner and daily chemical additive, with wide market demand in industrial and environmental protection fields.
Safety Information
Polyacrylamide itself is low-toxic, but its dust may cause mild irritation to human respiratory tract, skin and eyes. Inhalation of fine powder may cause throat discomfort and cough. Long-term skin contact may lead to dryness and slight itching. Eye contact with powder will produce foreign body sensation and mild congestion. Avoid inhaling dust during operation; wear dust mask and gloves, operate in ventilated place. Keep sealed and stored in dry and cool environment, away from moisture and strong oxidants. Waste can be treated as ordinary industrial waste, avoid direct discharge into water in large quantity.
