Applications
2-Bromo-5-methoxypyridine is a key halogenated pyridine pharmaceutical intermediate, widely used in Suzuki coupling, Buchwald reaction and other organic synthesis reactions. It is an important building block for the synthesis of pyridine-containing API molecules, targeted anticancer drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs and central nervous system medicines. The bromo group is easy to undergo substitution and coupling modification, while the methoxy group can adjust molecular lipophilicity and pharmacological activity. It is commonly used in fine chemical customization, heterocyclic compound derivation, medicinal chemistry research and laboratory scale-up synthesis, also applied in agrochemical intermediate synthesis and organic electronic material molecular construction.
Safety
Causes skin irritation and serious eye irritation. Inhalation of vapor or dust may irritate respiratory tract and cause cough and throat discomfort. Avoid inhalation, direct skin and eye contact. Operate in fume hood with chemical resistant gloves, safety goggles and dust respirator. Store tightly sealed in cool, dry, dark and ventilated place, keep away from heat, strong oxidants and alkaline materials. In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse immediately with plenty of running water for several minutes. Dispose of waste as hazardous chemical waste, do not discharge directly into sewer or water environment.
