Main Uses
This compound is a high-efficiency plant growth regulator widely applied in modern agricultural cultivation and plantation management. It can effectively inhibit apical dominance, control excessive stem elongation, dwarf crop and ornamental plant stature, and boost lateral bud germination and branch proliferation, which greatly improves plant canopy structure and lodging resistance for cereal crops, cash crops and landscape greening plants. It is commonly utilized to induce parthenocarpy in fruit trees and vegetables, forming seedless fruits and optimizing fruit shape, texture and commercial value. It also regulates flowering period, delays premature senescence and ripening, prolongs fresh-keeping cycle of harvested produce, and enhances latex yield when applied to rubber trees. Besides agricultural use, it acts as a key fine chemical intermediate for synthesizing various fluorene-based derivatives, involved in pharmaceutical raw material synthesis, pesticide molecule design and organic synthesis research, and can be used as reference standard reagent for laboratory qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Safety Information
The substance presents moderate environmental hazard and long-term adverse effects on aquatic organisms, requiring strict control over discharge into water bodies and soil environment. Direct skin contact may cause mild irritation and allergic reaction for sensitive populations, while eye contact can lead to redness, stinging and conjunctival discomfort; accidental inhalation of dust powder may irritate respiratory tract mucosa and cause cough and throat discomfort. No obvious acute oral toxicity is recorded under normal use dosage, but excessive ingestion should be avoided strictly. During handling and formulation operation, operators shall wear protective gloves, goggles and dust-proof masks, keep working area well ventilated, and avoid dust generation and airborne dispersion. Store in sealed, dry, dark and cool conditions, keep away from strong oxidants, strong acids and heat sources. Waste residue and waste liquid must be disposed of in accordance with chemical waste regulations, prohibited from random dumping to prevent ecological pollution and potential biological cumulative toxicity.
