Main Uses
This compound is an important functionalized benzoate intermediate containing bromo, nitro and methyl ester groups on the benzene ring. It is widely used in pharmaceutical intermediates, organic synthesis, cross-coupling chemistry and fine chemical development. The bromine site can participate in Suzuki, Heck and Sonogashira coupling reactions; the nitro group can be reduced to amino for further acylation and cyclization; the methyl ester group can be hydrolyzed or amidated for structural modification. It serves as a key building block for synthesizing antitumor, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and central nervous system drug molecules. It is also applied in the preparation of heterocyclic compounds, organic optoelectronic intermediates and laboratory synthetic route process optimization.
Safety Information
This halogenated nitroaromatic compound has irritant and mild sensitization properties. Direct skin contact may cause redness, itching and allergic irritation, especially for sensitive skin. Eye contact will cause severe stinging, tearing and conjunctival inflammation, requiring immediate flushing with plenty of clean water for more than 15 minutes. Inhalation of fine powder irritates the respiratory tract, causing throat dryness, cough and chest discomfort. Accidental ingestion may lead to gastrointestinal nausea, abdominal pain and discomfort. Operate in a fume hood with chemical-resistant gloves, safety goggles and dust mask. Store tightly sealed in dry, cool and dark place, keep away from strong oxidants, strong alkalis and reducing substances. Waste and contaminated packaging shall be disposed of as hazardous waste; random discharge into water and soil is prohibited.
