Applications
Nickel acetate tetrahydrate is an important nickel salt raw material widely used in electroplating industry, catalyst preparation, ceramic coloring, industrial additives and chemical synthesis. It is commonly applied in surface electroplating as a main nickel plating raw material for metal surface protection and decorative coating. In chemical industry, it serves as a precursor for preparing nickel-based catalysts, hydrogenation catalysts and nano-nickel materials. It is also used as colorant for ceramics, glass and enamel, as well as mordant in dyeing industry. Besides, it is widely used in battery materials, metal corrosion inhibitors and laboratory analytical reagents.
Safety Information
This nickel salt compound is harmful and has skin sensitization and respiratory irritation risks. Inhalation of dust may cause cough, sore throat and respiratory discomfort, and long-term exposure may induce allergic rhinitis. Skin contact easily causes allergic dermatitis, redness, itching and rash. Eye contact will lead to severe irritation, congestion and foreign body sensation. Ingestion may cause nausea, abdominal pain and gastrointestinal poisoning symptoms. Wear dust mask, chemical-resistant gloves and goggles during operation, work in well-ventilated place. Keep sealed and stored in dry cool place, isolated from food and oxidants. Waste must be treated as hazardous waste, avoid direct discharge into water and soil.
