Application
Ethylene Glycol Distearate (EGDS) is a widely used pearlescent agent in cosmetics and personal care. It imparts a luxurious pearl luster to shampoos, body washes, shower gels, and lotions. As a thickener and emulsifier, it enhances viscosity and stability of liquid formulations, while providing mild moisturizing and anti-static benefits. It is compatible with most nonionic and anionic surfactants, maintaining stable pearl effect over a wide pH range. In pharmaceuticals, it acts as a lubricant and tablet binder. In plastics and polymers, it serves as an internal lubricant and mold release agent. It is also used in textile processing as a fiber lubricant and softener.
