Application
2-(Tributylstannyl)thiophene is a key organotin intermediate for Stille coupling in organic synthesis. It introduces a thiophene ring into complex molecules, widely used in pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and advanced material synthesis. In pharma, it builds thiophene-containing APIs for anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and oncology drugs. In agrochemicals, it synthesizes thiophene-based fungicides and herbicides with high selectivity. In optoelectronics, it prepares conjugated polymers, organic semiconductors, and OLED materials, enhancing charge transport and stability. It also serves as a research reagent in cross-coupling chemistry, enabling efficient C–C bond formation under mild conditions.
