Product Description
Ethacridine lactate monohydrate, with CAS No. 6402-23-9, is a high-purity organic fine chemical belonging to the acridine derivative series, also known as Acrinol monohydrate or Ethodin. It appears as a light yellow to yellow crystalline powder, with uniform particle size, no visible impurities, and stable physical and chemical properties. This product is a widely used antiseptic and poly(ADP-ribose) glycohydrolase (PARG) inhibitor, which has strong bactericidal effect on Gram-positive bacteria and a few Gram-negative bacteria, especially effective against streptococci. It is slightly soluble in water (needing ultrasonic assistance for dissolution), very slightly soluble in ethanol, and practically insoluble in methylene chloride. It is widely used in pharmaceutical R&D, biochemical experiments, disinfection and antisepsis fields, serving as a key raw material for antiseptic preparations, a reagent for plasma protein precipitation separation, and a research tool for biological activity experiments, providing reliable support for industrial production, scientific research and clinical related applications.
1. Physical Properties
Ethacridine lactate monohydrate is a light yellow to yellow crystalline powder, with uniform particle size, no sediment, suspended matter or mechanical impurities, and slight hygroscopicity. Its molecular weight is 361.39 Da, melting point is 243~245℃, and density is about 1.36 g/cm3. It is sparingly soluble in water, and the aqueous solution is yellow, showing strong green fluorescence under ultraviolet light at 365 nm; it is very slightly soluble in ethanol, practically insoluble in methylene chloride, and its solubility in water can reach about 2mg/ml with ultrasonic assistance.
2. Chemical Properties
As an acridine derivative organic compound, it has stable chemical properties under normal temperature and pressure, and is not easy to decompose. It has amphoteric characteristics and can participate in various organic reactions. It has strong antibacterial activity, especially effective against Staphylococcus aureus and other Gram-positive cocci, with MIC values ranging from 100-200 μg/ml; it is also a poly(ADP-ribose) glycohydrolase (PARG) inhibitor, which can be used in related biological activity research. Its aqueous solution is unstable and tends to change color when exposed to light, so it needs to be protected from light during storage and use.
3. Storage & Safety Properties
Storage: It should be stored in a dry, cool, well-ventilated and sealed environment, protected from light, and avoid moisture, high temperature and direct sunlight. It is recommended to store at 4℃ for solid products; for products dissolved in solvent, store at -80℃ for 6 months or -20℃ for 1 month. Do not mix with toxic, harmful and corrosive substances, and keep the packaging intact to prevent moisture absorption, contamination and deterioration.
Safety: It is an irritant substance (GHS07), which may cause skin and eye irritation and affect the respiratory system. When operating, appropriate protective equipment (N95 dust mask, goggles, gloves) should be worn, and operate in a well-ventilated environment. In case of accidental contact with skin, wash thoroughly with plenty of water; in case of eye contact, rinse cautiously with water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if present and easy to do) and continue rinsing. If skin or eye irritation persists, seek medical advice. This product is for industrial, pharmaceutical R&D and scientific research use only, not for other purposes.
