Product Description
Dextrose (CAS: 492-62-6), also known as D-glucose, is a monosaccharide and the most common naturally occurring sugar. It appears as a white crystalline powder or granular solid, odorless, with a sweet taste and hygroscopicity. It is highly soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, and widely used in food, pharmaceutical, and industrial fields due to its nutritional and functional properties.
Uses
Food Industry: Widely used as a sweetener, thickener and stabilizer in candy, beverages, bakery products, jams and dairy products, helping improve texture, extend shelf life and enhance flavor.
Pharmaceutical Field: Used as an excipient, sweetener and nutrient in oral liquids, syrups and injections; it is also a key raw material for glucose injections, providing energy for patients with insufficient sugar intake.
Other Industries: Used as a carbon source in fermentation industry, a moisturizer and thickener in cosmetics, and a surface sizing agent in papermaking industry to improve paper strength and gloss.
