Shandong Huashang Chemical Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the research and development, manufacturing, and sales of fine chemicals. Headquartered in Jinan, Shandong, China, we are committed to delivering high-quality products to our global partners. Currently, over 90% of our products are exported to developed markets, including North America, Europe, Japan, South Korea, and the Middle East.
Appearance
White or off-white crystalline powder, odorless, with a fine and uniform particle size, no visible impurities. It has a slight luster under natural light and does not clump under normal dry storage conditions.
Physical Properties
Melting point: >300°C (decomposes when heated to above 300°C, without obvious boiling point due to decomposition)
Boiling point: No definite boiling point; decomposes gradually when heated to around 200°C, and decomposes completely when heated above 300°C, producing toxic fumes such as nitrogen oxides.
Density: 1.73 g/cm3 (25°C, solid state)
Solubility: Very slightly soluble in water (about 6.8 mg/dL at 37°C, 0.06 mmol/L), solubility increases slightly in hot water; soluble in strong alkaline solutions (such as sodium hydroxide solution) to form corresponding salts; insoluble in ethanol, ether, chloroform, benzene and other organic solvents.
Hardness: Brittle, easy to grind into fine powder; no ductility or toughness.
Chemical Properties
1. Acidity: It is a weak diprotic acid, which can ionize two hydrogen ions in aqueous solution, and its aqueous solution is weakly acidic; it can react with strong bases to form urate (such as sodium urate, potassium urate).
2. Decomposition: It is stable at room temperature and normal pressure, but decomposes when heated; it decomposes into urea, carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides when heated to 200-300°C, and decomposes into ammonia, cyanide and other substances at higher temperatures.
3. Oxidation-reduction: It has certain reducing properties and can be oxidized by strong oxidants (such as potassium permanganate, hydrogen peroxide) to form allantoin, carbon dioxide and other products.
4. Stability: It does not react with common acids (except strong oxidizing acids) at room temperature; it is stable in dry air, but easy to absorb moisture and agglomerate in humid environment, but does not undergo chemical changes.
Usage
1. Biochemical reagent field: It is widely used as a standard reagent and analytical reagent in biochemical experiments, such as the detection of uric acid content in human blood, urine and other samples, the research on purine metabolism pathway, and the screening and verification of xanthine oxidase inhibitors.
2. Pharmaceutical intermediate field: It is an important intermediate for the synthesis of various drugs, such as anti-gout drugs, anti-tumor drugs, and immunomodulators; it can also be used in the synthesis of urate derivatives with specific biological activities.
3. Cosmetic raw material field: It has certain antioxidant and moisturizing properties, can scavenge free radicals in the skin, delay skin aging, and is often added to skin care products such as lotions, creams, and serums.
4. Food and feed additive field: It can be used as a feed additive to improve the growth performance of livestock and poultry and enhance immunity; in the food industry, it is used as a food additive in small amounts to adjust the taste and nutritional value of food.
5. Other fields: It is used in the research and development of chemical sensors (such as uric acid sensors), the preparation of conductive materials, and the synthesis of organic intermediates in the chemical industry.
Storage
Sealed storage in cool and dry place, keep away from strong oxidants.
Safety Overview
Hazard Category: Irritant. Avoid inhaling dust and direct contact with skin and eyes.
Safety Precautions
1. Personal Protection: Wear disposable gloves, safety goggles and dust mask when handling; avoid direct contact with skin, eyes and respiratory tract.
2. Emergency Handling: Rinse with plenty of water for 15 minutes if contact with skin or eyes; move to fresh air if inhaled; seek medical advice if discomfort occurs.
3. Fire & Spill: Non-flammable; use dry powder/CO? to put out fire if burning. Clean up spilled powder with dry tools and dispose of it properly.
4. Disposal: Dispose of waste and packaging in accordance with local environmental regulations; do not discard at will.
