Basic Properties
Appearance: Colorless transparent liquid, odorless, with uniform texture and no visible impurities. It has good fluidity at room temperature, no viscosity change under normal storage conditions, and remains transparent without turbidity or precipitation. It is a mixture of isomers, and the physical properties are stable and consistent.
Solubility: Miscible with water in any proportion, and also miscible with ethanol, ether, acetone, benzene and most organic solvents. It is stable in aqueous solution, does not decompose, and has good compatibility with various polar and non-polar solvents, which is a typical characteristic of glycol ether compounds.
Other properties: It has a refractive index of n20/D 1.4220-1.4240 (lit.); vapor pressure is 0.13 mmHg at 25°C, low volatility under normal temperature and pressure; non-corrosive, and has no obvious corrosive effect on common metals and plastics.
Chemical Properties
1. Stability: Stable under normal temperature and pressure; stable to light, heat and weak acids and weak bases; not easy to decompose, and has good chemical stability. It does not react with common oxidants and reducing agents under normal conditions.
2. Reactivity: As a glycol ether compound, it has weak reactivity, can undergo esterification reaction with carboxylic acids, and can also be used as a solvent to promote the progress of other organic reactions; it has no obvious toxic side reactions and is safe to use under normal operating conditions.
3. Incompatibility: Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and strong acids; avoid mixed storage with these substances to prevent slight decomposition; stable when mixed with common solvents, coatings, inks and other materials.
Usage
1. Coating Industry: Widely used as a solvent, diluent and coupling agent in water-based and solvent-based coatings. It can improve the solubility of resins, reduce the viscosity of coatings, enhance the leveling and adhesion of coatings, and is suitable for coatings such as acrylic, polyurethane and epoxy.
2. Ink Industry: Used as a solvent and diluent in printing inks, especially in water-based inks, which can improve the fluidity and drying speed of inks, and ensure the clarity and brightness of printed patterns.
3. Cosmetics Industry: Used as a solvent and humectant in cosmetics, such as lotions, creams, perfumes, etc. It has good solubility and compatibility, can help dissolve active ingredients, and has a mild moisturizing effect without irritation to the skin.
4. Pharmaceutical Industry: Used as a solvent and excipient in pharmaceutical preparations, such as oral liquids, injections (after purification), etc., to help dissolve insoluble drugs and improve the stability of preparations.

Storage
Store in a sealed container, keep away from light, heat and open flame; store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse, the recommended storage temperature is 15-25°C. It should be stored separately from strong oxidants and strong acids, and should not be mixed for storage; avoid long-term exposure to high temperature and sunlight to prevent slight volatilization. The storage period can reach 2 years under proper storage conditions.

Safety Precautions
