Basic Properties
Appearance: White to off-white crystalline powder, odorless, with uniform texture and no visible impurities. It has strong hygroscopicity, is sensitive to light and air, and is easy to absorb moisture in the air, so it needs to be sealed and stored. It presents as colorless prismatic crystals or crystalline powder in pure form, with a salty acid taste.
Solubility: Easily soluble in water (0.1 g/mL, clear and colorless) and methanol; soluble in ethanol and acetone; very slightly soluble in ether and chloroform. Its aqueous solution is acidic to litmus, and the solubility is stable under normal temperature conditions.
Other properties: It has good crystallinity, and the crystal form is stable under proper storage conditions; purity is usually ≥98% for industrial use and ≥99.0% for laboratory and pharmaceutical use; it has no obvious corrosive effect on common metals and plastics.
Chemical Properties
1. Stability: Stable under normal temperature and pressure; incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, and may decompose when mixed with them; stable to weak acids and weak bases, and can be stored for a long time under proper sealed and light-shielded conditions without obvious deterioration.
2. Reactivity: As a histamine derivative, it is a histamine receptor agonist and vasodilator, which can participate in local immune responses, regulate intestinal physiological functions, and act as a neurotransmitter. It affects the p38 MAPK/Akt signaling pathway, has anti-tumor, anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, and can be used in the research of related diseases.
3. Incompatibility: Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents; avoid mixed storage with these substances to prevent decomposition or side reactions; stable when mixed with common biochemical reagents and organic solvents.
Usage
1. Biochemical Reagent: Used as a substrate for the determination of histaminase, and is widely used in biochemical experiments and detection fields, such as HPLC determination of histamine levels in organisms.
2. Pharmaceutical Industry: As an important pharmaceutical intermediate, it is used in drug manufacturing; it can also be used in the research of acute myeloid leukemia, malignant melanoma, renal cell carcinoma and other diseases, and can be used to construct gastrointestinal ulcer models in animal experiments.
3. Scientific Research: Used as an orthogonal cotransmitter to generate excitatory postsynaptic potentials (EPSP); used to evaluate the tracheal response of guinea pigs to antigens, and is widely used in neurobiology and immunology research.
4. Other Fields: Used as a raw material for the synthesis of histamine derivatives; used in the research of tyrosine hydroxylase-related products, as a natural isomer of the direct precursor of dopamine.
Storage
Store in a sealed container, keep away from light, moisture and air; store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse, the recommended storage temperature is 2-8°C. It should be stored separately from strong oxidizing agents, and should not be mixed for storage; avoid long-term exposure to light and high temperature to prevent moisture absorption and deterioration. The storage period can reach 1-2 years under proper storage conditions; the common packaging includes 5g, 500g, 5kg, 25kg/drum, suitable for different usage scenarios.

Safety Precautions
