Shandong Huashang Chemical Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the research and development, manufacturing, and sales of fine chemicals. Headquartered in Jinan, Shandong, China, we are committed to delivering high-quality products to our global partners. Currently, over 90% of our products are exported to developed markets, including North America, Europe, Japan, South Korea, and the Middle East.
Basic Properties
Appearance: Pale yellow to amber clear liquid, no visible impurities, uniform texture, with a rich fresh herbal aroma mixed with clove-like spicy notes. It may darken slightly due to mild oxidation after long-term storage, while the aroma remains stable without abnormal phenomena such as turbidity or precipitation, which is a typical appearance of natural plant essential oils.
Solubility: Almost insoluble in water, and will stratify quickly when water is added; easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, chloroform and acetone, miscible with most plant essential oils and flavor bases, and the aroma becomes softer after dilution, facilitating subsequent application and formulation.
Other properties: It has good volatility and can release aroma slowly at room temperature; medium thermal stability, the aroma will gradually volatilize when heated above 100°C, so long-term high-temperature environment should be avoided. The purity is usually ≥98% (natural extraction grade), no obvious peculiar smell, and the heavy metal content meets the standards of food and daily chemical industries.
Chemical Properties
1. Stability: Stable under normal temperature and pressure, and can be stored for a long time under dark and sealed conditions; sensitive to light and heat, long-term exposure to direct sunlight or high-temperature environment may cause mild oxidation, leading to darkening of color and fading of aroma. Stable in neutral and weakly acidic environments, avoid contact with strong oxidants and strong alkaline substances.
2. Reactivity: The main components contain active groups such as hydroxyl and double bonds, which can undergo oxidation, addition, esterification and other reactions; reaction with alcohols can generate ester derivatives for flavor modification; it has certain antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activities, and its mechanism of action is related to the active groups of linalool and eugenol.
3. Incompatibility: Incompatible with strong oxidants (such as hydrogen peroxide, potassium permanganate) and strong alkaline substances (such as sodium hydroxide); mixing may cause decomposition, leading to aroma deterioration and component damage; contact with heavy metal salts may produce precipitation, affecting the use effect.
Usage
1. Food Flavors: As a natural food flavor, it is used in the flavor formulations of baked goods (bread, cakes, biscuits), condiments (sauces, salad dressings), soft drinks, candies and other products. It can endow products with a fresh herbal aroma, improve flavor layering, and comply with FEMA safety standards.
2. Daily Chemical Flavors: Widely used in daily chemical products such as perfumes, soaps, body washes, toothpastes and air fresheners as the main or auxiliary fragrance. The aroma is fresh and natural, and it also has a certain bacteriostatic effect; it is also used in aromatherapy products to relieve fatigue and soothe emotions.
3. Pharmaceutical Field: It has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, analgesic and other effects, and is used in skin care products (massage oils, creams, ointments) to relieve skin inflammation, itching and promote skin repair; it can also be used as a pharmaceutical excipient for aroma flavoring and bacteriostasis of certain external preparations.
4. Industrial Synthesis: Used as an organic synthesis intermediate for the synthesis of flavor products such as menthol and coumarin, and can also be used to prepare modified derivatives of flavors and fragrances to expand application scenarios.
Storage
Store in sealed amber glass containers (to avoid light) in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse, with a recommended storage temperature of 5-25°C. Keep away from direct sunlight, heat sources, open flames and moisture. Store separately from strong oxidants and strong bases, do not mix storage. Unopened shelf life: 2-3 years; opened shelf life: 12-18 months (seal promptly after use). Common packaging: 100mL, 500mL, 1L amber glass bottles; 25kg galvanized iron drums (industrial grade).

Safety Precautions
1. Personal Protection: Wear disposable nitrile gloves, safety goggles and respiratory mask when handling; avoid direct contact with skin and eyes, avoid inhalation of vapor; ensure adequate ventilation in the operation area, wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling.
2. Emergency Handling: Skin contact: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of flowing water for 5-10 minutes, remove contaminated clothing, seek medical advice if irritation persists; Eye contact: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if present) and continue rinsing, seek medical advice immediately; Inhalation: Move to fresh air immediately, keep respiratory tract unobstructed, seek medical advice if discomfort occurs; Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting, drink plenty of water to dilute, call a poison center or doctor immediately.
3. Fire & Spill: Flammable liquid; use dry powder, foam or carbon dioxide fire extinguishing agents in case of fire, avoid using water to put out fire (may cause splashing); If spilled, isolate the contaminated area, collect the spilled liquid with dry and clean tools, put it into a sealed container for proper disposal, avoid entering drains or water courses.
4. Disposal: Dispose of waste and packaging in accordance with local environmental regulations; do not discard at will; waste can be properly treated by professional hazardous waste disposal institutions; transport in accordance with flammable liquid transportation regulations, avoid mixing with incompatible substances during transportation.
