Ethyl propiolate (CAS: 623-47-2) is a high-activity alkyne compound with wide applications in organic synthesis, pharmaceutical manufacturing and chemical research. As a key organic building block, it is used in the synthesis of various heterocyclic compounds, aromatic derivatives and pharmaceutical intermediates, especially in the preparation of anti-inflammatory, antiviral and anti-tumor drugs. In asymmetric synthesis, its halogenated derivatives serve as substrates for direct asymmetric alkynylation of cyclic β-ketoesters using chiral phase-transfer catalysts. It is also employed in one-pot four-component synthesis of benzene-1,2,3,5-tetracarboxylates promoted by triphenylphosphine. Additionally, it functions as a critical reagent for chemical analysis and material synthesis, meeting high-purity standards for laboratory and industrial applications.
