Uses
3-Pyridinesulfonic acid (CAS: 636-73-7) is a versatile heterocyclic sulfonic acid compound with wide applications in organic synthesis, pharmaceutical manufacturing, electroplating industry, and chemical research. As a key organic building block, it is widely used in the synthesis of various pharmaceutical and chemical intermediates, such as silver 3-pyridinesulfonate and 3-pyridinesulfonyl chloride. In the electroplating industry, it serves as a brightening agent and additive for nickel, copper, and zinc plating, effectively improving the uniformity and brightness of the coating. It is also employed as a catalyst and analytical reagent in chemical research, and can be used as a raw material for organic synthesis, meeting high-purity standards for laboratory and industrial applications. Additionally, it is involved in the preparation of metal sulfonate complexes and plays an important role in the synthesis of functional materials.
Packaging & Storage
Packaging: Laboratory grade: 5g/10g/25g amber glass bottles (sealed with Teflon gaskets) to prevent light and moisture; Industrial grade: 25kg/50kg corrosion-resistant HDPE plastic drums or fiber drums, labeled with "corrosive", "hygroscopic", "light-sensitive" and GHS hazard information (including H314: Causes severe skin burns and eye damage), and marked with product name, CAS number, purity, storage conditions and UN transportation information. Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse at room temperature (15–25°C); keep tightly sealed, protected from moisture, light and air; avoid contact with strong oxidants, strong bases and metals; it is recommended to store in a dark place and lock the storage area; shelf life is 12 months under specified storage conditions. Keep away from fire, heat sources and direct sunlight during storage and transportation. Wear chemical-resistant gloves, goggles, face shields and protective clothing during operation; use in a fume hood to avoid inhalation of dust or contact with skin and eyes; do not inhale dust/mist; wash skin thoroughly after handling; if it comes into contact with the skin, immediately remove all contaminated clothing and rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes; if accidentally ingested, rinse mouth and do not induce vomiting; if splashed into eyes, rinse carefully with water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily removable) and continue rinsing, then seek medical attention immediately; properly dispose of residual contents and containers as industrial waste.
