Main Uses

Analytical Field: Widely used as an internal standard in gas chromatography (GC) for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of hydrocarbons, serving as a reference for retention time comparison in the structural identification of new compounds. It is also used as a standard sample for petroleum analysis and chromatographic calibration.
Organic Synthesis & Solvent: As an inert organic solvent, it is suitable for reactions requiring non-polar media; it is also used as an intermediate for the synthesis of downstream derivatives such as undecyl bromide and undecanol, which are further applied in the production of surfactants, plasticizers and other fine chemicals.
Other Fields: Used as a mild sex attractant for moths and cockroaches, and an alert signal for various ants; it is also applied in the production of refrigerants, insecticides, lubricants, paints, high-grade electronic cleaning fluids, chlorinated paraffins and environmentally friendly dry cleaning agents. In addition, it can be used as a base oil component in lubricants and a solvent in pesticide formulations.
