Main Uses

• Pharmaceutical Field: As a key pharmaceutical intermediate, it is widely used in the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). It is used in the production of antipsychotic drugs such as haloperidol and tricloperidol, antihistamines such as fexofenadine, antiepileptic drugs such as levetiracetam, and antitumor antibiotics such as mitomycin C analogs. Its bifunctional reactivity (acyl chloride group and terminal alkyl chloride) makes it an important building block for synthesizing complex pharmaceutical molecules.
• Agrochemical Field: Used as an intermediate in the synthesis of agrochemicals, it is a key raw material for the plant growth regulator trinexapac-ethyl, and can also be used in the synthesis of herbicides and pesticides, playing an important role in agricultural production.
• Other Fields: As an important bifunctional reagent in organic synthesis, it is used in acylation reactions (acylating amines to form amides) and can be used to introduce a four-carbon chain for further functionalization or synthesis of heterocyclic compounds. It is also used as a chemical reagent in laboratory research and development, and in the production of custom fine chemicals.
