Chemical Properties
- Structure: Triester formed by glycerol and three molecules of acetic acid
- Hydrolysis characteristic: Slow hydrolysis under normal temperature aqueous system; accelerated hydrolysis under acid/alkali heating to generate glycerol and acetic acid
- Transesterification reaction: Under acid catalysis, exchange ester groups with other alcohols
- Thermal stability: Stable below 220℃; long-term heating above boiling point produces volatile acetic acid and partial glyceride impurities
- Acid-base compatibility: Stable in neutral and weak acid environment; strong alkali heating causes complete saponification
- Oxidation resistance: Not easy to oxidize under airtight normal temperature; no peroxide generated
- Plasticizing property: Excellent plasticizer, compatible with cellulose, resin, rubber
- Compatibility: Compatible with most resins, spices, pharmaceutical excipients; incompatible with concentrated strong alkali, strong oxidants

Main plasticizer for cellulose acetate cigarette filter rods, softens cellulose acetate fiber, improves filter toughness, uniform forming and smoking taste, the largest consumption field.
2. Pharmaceutical Excipient
- Capsule plasticizer for hard/soft gelatin capsules, reduce capsule brittleness, improve flexibility
- Solubilizer and solvent for oral liquid, topical ointment, sustained-release matrix auxiliary material
- Carrier for drug sustained-release microcapsules

- Food flavor carrier, solvent for essence and spice
