Physical Properties
- Appearance: White or off-white crystalline granule/powder, odorless
- Solubility: Easily soluble in water; insoluble in ethanol, acetone, ether

- Melting & Decomposition: Decomposes at 280℃ without distinct melting point
- pH (0.1mol/L aqueous solution): 5.0–6.0, weakly acidic
- Hygroscopy: Slightly hygroscopic under high humidity, easy caking in damp environment

- Molecular structure: Inorganic ammonium salt composed of NH4+ and SO42- ions
- Alkali reaction: Reacts with strong alkali (NaOH, Ca(OH)2) under heating to release ammonia gas
- Thermal decomposition: Decompose above 280℃ into NH3, NH4HSO4, sulfur trioxide
- Double salt formation: Can form alum double salt with aluminum, iron, chromium salts
- Precipitation reaction: Generate insoluble sulfate precipitate with barium, lead ions
- Acid-base stability: Stable in neutral and acidic medium; decomposed by strong alkali
- Buffer characteristic: Aqueous solution has weak buffering capacity
- Compatibility: Compatible with most neutral acidic fertilizers and industrial raw materials; incompatible with alkaline substances, calcium-containing raw materials

Acid-type nitrogen fertilizer with nitrogen content 20–21%, suitable for rice, wheat, vegetables, fruit trees; applicable to alkaline soil, supplement nitrogen and sulfur elements, improve crop yield.
2. Biochemical & Laboratory Reagent
- Salting-out agent for protein separation and purification; precipitate protein from aqueous solution
- Culture medium nitrogen source for microbial fermentation, strain cultivation
- Standard reagent for sulfate and ammonium ion quantitative detection

- Leather tanning agent, leather deashing auxiliary
- Textile printing and dyeing dyeing auxiliary, acidifying agent for dye bath
