Chemical Properties
- Molecular structure: Ester formed by benzyl alcohol and acetic acid, contains benzene ring and acetate functional group
- Hydrolysis reaction: Under acid or alkaline heating conditions, hydrolyze to benzyl alcohol and acetic acid
- Transesterification: React with other alcohols to generate mixed benzyl ester derivatives
- Aromatic substitution: Benzyl benzene ring can undergo halogenation, nitration under strong acid catalysis
- Thermal stability: Stable below 180 ℃; high temperature above 250 ℃ cracking produces toluene, benzaldehyde impurities
- Oxidation resistance: Difficult to oxidize under normal storage, no easy rancidity
- Compatibility: Compatible with most perfume monomers, cosmetic base oils; avoid long-term contact with strong acid, strong alkali
