- Acid-base stability: Stable in neutral & weak acid; long-time strong acid immersion damages layered structure; alkalinity boosts swelling performance
- Thermal stability: Crystal water lost at 100–200℃; layered structure destroyed above 500℃, lose thickening & adsorption capacity
- Adsorption capacity: Strong adsorbability for pigment, organic impurity, heavy metal ion, grease
