Physical Properties
- Appearance: Loose fluffy white fine powder
- Odor: Faint slight characteristic odor
- Solubility: Swell and disperse in water, ethanol, glycerol; insoluble in mineral oil, alkanes
- Glass transition temperature: 100–105 ℃
- Hygroscopy: Moderately hygroscopic, easy to agglomerate under high humidity
- Aqueous property: 0.5% dispersion pH=2.7–3.3, weak acidity; neutralized with alkali to form transparent high-viscosity gel
Chemical Properties
- Molecular structure: Acrylic acid homopolymer crosslinked with allyl pentaerythritol ether / allyl sucrose ether, mass fraction of COOH group 56%–68%
- Thickening & gelling mechanism: Carboxyl ionizes after neutralization, molecular chain stretches and expands, forms high-transparency short-flow non-dripping gel
- Ion sensitivity: Poor tolerance to metal ions / high salinity, viscosity drops sharply under high ion environment
- Thermal stability: Stable below 90 ℃; long-term high temperature will reduce gel viscosity
- Photostability: Neutralized gel resistant to UV light, not easy to yellow
- Compatibility: Compatible with nonionic/amphoteric surfactants; incompatible with strong cationic substances, high-concentration metal salts, strong oxidants
