- Solubility: Soluble in dichloromethane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, methanol, ethanol; slightly soluble in hexane; insoluble in water
- Melting Point: 80–84 °C
- Specific Rotation: [α]D2? = -42° ~ -38° (c=1, CHCl?)
- Density (20 °C): 1.28 g/cm3
- Hygroscopicity: Slightly hygroscopic under high humidity air
- Aqueous Stability: Stable in anhydrous environment; slow hydrolysis of acetyl groups under heated alkaline aqueous solution
Chemical Characteristics
- Molecular Structure: Five-membered furanose ribose skeleton with four hydroxyl groups fully protected by acetyl ester groups, pure β-anomer sugar derivative
- Core Synthetic Function: Key protected ribose building block for synthesizing ribonucleoside anti-viral APIs, nucleoside anticancer drugs; easily undergoes glycosylation and deprotection reactions
- Hydrolysis Characteristic: Acetyl protecting groups can be removed under acid or base catalysis to regenerate free ribose
- Photostability: Mildly light-sensitive; long-term UV exposure generates trace deacetylation impurities
- Thermal Stability: Stable below 75 °C; above melting point, partial ester cleavage occurs
- Chemical Compatibility: Compatible with anhydrous aprotic solvents; incompatible with water, strong alkali, strong nucleophiles
3. Main Application Fields
- Core Application: Nucleoside Anti-Viral Pharmaceutical Intermediate
Exclusive precursor for manufacturing ribonucleoside drugs used to treat hepatitis, herpes virus and respiratory viral infections; widely applied in global nucleoside drug production lines - Carbohydrate Chemistry Research Reagent
Standard protected ribose substrate for glycosylation methodology and sugar total synthesis laboratory research - Fine Chemical Chiral Building Block
Chiral polyhydroxy skeleton raw material for chiral catalyst and natural product synthesis
4. Platform Category & Product Group Selection Guide
1) Domestic B2B Platform Category
Recommended Path: Organic Intermediates / Pharmaceutical Intermediates
Reason: Core protected sugar intermediate for human antiviral nucleoside APIs, classified as pharmaceutical intermediate
2) English Product Group Dropdown Options
Recommended Selection: Pharmaceutical Chemicals
Do NOT select Basic Organic Chemicals; it is regulated pharmaceutical synthetic raw material matching pharmaceutical chemical grouping
